OCEAN Team History

During the post-war period, another experienced captain, Mr. Luigi Cattaruzza, once terminated his work onboard, decided to found the navigation company Ocean S.r.l., which started operating cabotage services between ports of the Adriatic Sea. The activity developed up to establishing a traffic line between the Mediterranean Sea and West Africa. At present, Ocean operates in Mediterranean Sea both through its branch maritime agencies and by directly manning navigation units for harbour services (towage, ships bunkering, barge chartering).
By founding the OSA (50% Ocean and 50% Offshore Supply Association from Bremen), Ocean S.r.l. succeeded in transferring to the Mediterranean Sea the know-how the German partner had acquired during its long-year experience in the management of over 1000 AHT and AHTS in the seas worldwide, including the waters of Newfoundland, Greenland, the Magellan's Straits, Arctic and Antarctic Sea.
In the same period, Ocean established a joint-service with the Hapag Lloyd from Hamburg for the transportation of offshore units by means of flat top barges and the management of the heavy-lift service with its ships "Storm", "Storman Asia" and "Storm 3".
At present, the core business of the group is represented by the towage service in the Ports of Trieste, Monfalcone, Porto Nogaro and Koper (Slovenia) and Bar (Montenegro) carried out by its fleet of tugboats, equipped to face any kind of requirement.
